Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Head of Business Development to lead and drive the growth of our agency force within the financial advisory sector. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 15 years of insurance industry experience, including a strong track record in senior agency sales management. This role requires a strategic leader with a passion for people development, proven success in implementing distribution strategies, and deep understanding of agency systems, compensation models, and insurance products.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Strategy
- Lead and manage all agency sales activities to achieve and exceed company KPIs and business objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand and strengthen the tied agency force.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for organic and external talent acquisition.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to drive business synergy and market expansion.
- Oversee the development and execution of recruitment, onboarding, and training strategies.
- Design and monitor effective compensation and incentive schemes, including TAP, FSP, recruitment drives, and sales contests.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Provide inspirational leadership and direction to the agency team, cultivating a high-performance culture.
- Foster a positive and cohesive team environment, leveraging individual strengths for collective success.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, guiding team members toward professional growth and performance excellence.
- Implement talent management strategies to retain, motivate, and upskill top agency performers.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all business activities align with corporate governance standards and comply with relevant industry regulations and fair dealing principles.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines relevant to the financial and insurance advisory industry.
- Identify and mitigate business risks while ensuring ethical sales practices.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale agency or distribution networks.
- Proven track record in agency sales management, recruitment, and business development.
- Deep understanding of agency systems, sales compensation models, insurance products, and distribution frameworks.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and develop others.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability and high adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Sound understanding of compliance, corporate governance, and fair dealing principles relevant to the industry.
