Qualifications

Role

Role: The Head of Communication and Audio will lead the Communication and Audio department, overseeing design, implementation, and maintenance of complex broadcast and IT systems across live television and broadcast environments. This senior leadership role requires strategic planning, team management, and ensuring the highest standards of audio production and communication infrastructure for NEP’s projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Development Define the strategic vision for the Audio and Communication department, mentoring and empowering engineers, system integrators, and technical leads to achieve peak performance. Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Operational Oversight Ensure operational excellence across all broadcast audio and communication systems, including setup, testing, maintenance, and real-time troubleshooting during live productions and large-scale events.
  • Technology & Innovation Drive adoption of cutting‑edge audio and communication technologies, establishing department standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain NEP’s industry leadership.
  • Strategic Planning & Resource Management Develop and implement long‑term plans for resource allocation, scheduling, and deployment for projects locally and internationally. Optimize team efficiency while maintaining high‑quality deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration Serve as the principal advisor to production teams, directors, and senior stakeholders on audio and communication strategies, ensuring alignment with creative goals and operational requirements.
  • System Design & Performance Optimization Oversee review of technical designs, system architecture, and project plans, recommending enhancements to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Risk Management & Escalation Act as the primary escalation point for critical technical issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimizing operational risk during live broadcasts.
  • Vendor & Budget Management Lead strategic vendor partnerships, procurement planning, and equipment lifecycle management, ensuring cost‑effective investments in cutting‑edge technologies.
  • Compliance & Safety Establish and enforce safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and industry‑standard operational procedures across all audio and communication activities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or diploma in Broadcast Engineering, Audio Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in broadcast or outside broadcast environments, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of OB systems, live event operations, and communication infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio, communication, and IP‑based systems; LAWO experience is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to travel and work in dynamic, high‑pressure environments.
  • Solid understanding of safety and technical standards in broadcast operations.
