Position Summary
The Head of APAC Regional Marketing is an executive-level (SVP) position that partners with Global Marketing and Customer Success leaders to position SAP as a leader, achieve cloud revenue objectives, and create pipeline health through high-impact marketing strategies and programs that drive tangible, measurable market growth across APAC.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced tech marketing leader with a proven track record of managing large teams and building bridges in a matrixed, global organization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15+ years of marketing experience, a strong preference for those with recent experience leading in regional markets, a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field (advanced degree highly preferred), and proficiency in Mandarin and or Japanese is a strong advantage. The successful candidate will be data-driven, outcome-focused, agile, and capable of executing multi-departmental budgets and optimizing business processes at scale.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy Excellence
- Lead the creation and execution of innovative marketing programs in close collaboration with the Integrated Marketing Team and Customer Success teams to achieve revenue and pipeline goals across all sources of demand.
- Develop and implement agile, differentiated marketing strategies that span the entire customer lifecycle, including new account acquisition, expansion, and adoption.
- Provide strategic direction while ensuring alignment, integration, and collaboration across regional teams and with Global Marketing corporate functions and Marketing Operations during the joint business planning process.
- Develop and drive the adoption of best practices in the areas of partner marketing, event marketing, account-based marketing, demand generation, and pipeline progression.
- Run a disciplined governance model to track and communicate performance management and clear results reporting, working closely with Marketing Ops team.
- Partner with all sources of demand (sales, digital, partner, and global marketing) to build an integrated regional marketing strategy that aligns to business priorities and drives measurable impact.
- Operationalize strategy with excellence by managing execution across channels, programs, and teams—ensuring consistency, efficiency, and accountability for results.
Marketing Operations Excellence
- Foster cross-functional alignment and collaboration between Market Units, Product Marketing, and the enterprise and corporate segments to drive pipeline growth and revenue impact.
- Lead the marketing team toward operational excellence, ensuring scalability, best practices, continuous learning, and a seamless transition from strategy to execution.
- Ensure strong alignment and collaboration between Customer Success and Global Marketing teams.
- Manage the marketing budget effectively, making data-driven investment decisions aligned with corporate, marketing, and regional priorities.
- Set clear goals, objectives, and KPIs for all marketing initiatives, ensuring they are tracked and achieved including program ROI and performance.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, productive executive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Role Scope
Estimated number of direct reports for this role is 10, total team size is 80+ employees, with an estimated program budget of €20M.
