Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in SCM, logistics, business, or related field.
• 10+ years in freight transportation or logistics with increasing responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs compliance.
• Proven track record in strategic planning and performance improvements in air freight.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in a regional setting.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Asia Pacific air freight strategy, aligning with global objectives to drive cost efficiency, service excellence, and scalability.
• Lead end-to-end air freight operations across Asia Pacific, ensuring seamless execution and optimization.
• Own regional air freight performance, including P&L accountability and cost management.
• Establish and drive performance management frameworks with KPIs and dashboards.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives leveraging analytics, automation and tech to improve visibility.
• Drive strategic sourcing and carrier management, including contract design and partnerships.
• Ensure compliance and risk governance across Asia Pacific markets.
• Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to align strategies with business priorities.
• Champion sustainability and ESG initiatives in air freight operations.
• Build and develop a high-performing regional team.
• Drive continuous improvement and best-practice process optimization.

The Asia Pacific Head of Air Freight is responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to drive air freight operations across the Asia-Pacific region. This role focuses on developing and executing innovative strategies to optimize the transportation of goods, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. The position aims to align regional air freight operations with customer requirements and organizational goals, fostering growth and competitive advantage in the Asia Pacific market.

Job Description

• Define and execute the Asia Pacific air freight strategy, aligning with global objectives to drive cost efficiency, service excellence, and scalability across diverse regional markets.
• Lead end-to-end air freight operations across Asia Pacific, ensuring seamless execution, standardization, and optimization.
• Own regional air freight performance, including P&L accountability, cost optimization, and delivery against financial and operational targets.
• Establish and drive performance management frameworks, including KPIs and dashboards, to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead digital transformation and innovation initiatives, leveraging advanced analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.
• Drive strategic sourcing and carrier management, including contract negotiation, network design, and long-term partnerships to optimize cost, capacity, and service levels.
• Ensure compliance and risk governance, including trade regulations, customs requirements, and operational risk mitigation across all Asia Pacific markets.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global and regional stakeholders to align air freight strategies with broader business priorities.
• Champion sustainability and ESG initiatives, embedding environmentally responsible practices into air freight operations and supporting corporate sustainability targets.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous capability development.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, applying best practices, benchmarking, and process optimization to achieve best-in-class performance.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or Advanced Degree desirable.
• 10+ years in freight transportation, logistics, or supply chain management with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and regional logistics operations.
• Proven track record of strategic planning, execution, and performance improvement initiatives within the air freight industry.
• Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced, regional environment.
