Job Description
- Lead the Affinity Department and grow the Facultative Reinsurance portfolios across key Affinity products, including:
- Extended Warranty Insurance
- Auto & Finance Insurance
- ADP & Screen Cover Insurance
- Payment Protection Insurance
- Contingency (Sports & Event Cancellation)
- Pet Insurance
- Personal Accident Insurance
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to drive profitable growth in the Affinity sector.
- Lead the development of Affinity (re)insurance business in line with the company’s strategic targets
- Oversee the prompt placement of Affinity reinsurance contracts, ensuring compliance with client needs and regulatory requirements.
- Provide end-to-end service for clients, advising on and securing competitive (re)insurance solutions.
- To assume responsibility for and to oversee:
- The renewal business portfolios
- New business production
- The marketing & placement of risks
- Client Servicing
- Growing the team as we build out our wider Property capabilities in Singapore
- Represent the company externally with brokers, insurers, and reinsurers to expand market presence.
- Manage, grow and retain the Affinity team, fostering expertise in niche product lines.
- Set financial/operational targets for the department in alignment with the CEO.
- Ensure effective communication across departments and with senior management.
- To advocate and ensure sound business practices compliant with the Company’s Rules, Procedures and other management instructions, in particular with regard to:
- The conduct and recording of business
- Confirmations and evidencing of cover
- Recording and filing of all communications and discussions
- The safeguarding of client monies
- The escalation and reporting of breaches, errors & omissions, disputes and complaints
- Liaise with other Department Heads and senior managers to ensure a coordinated approach is adopted on matters with cross-company impact.
- Reporting to the line manager on a timely manner to update on AffinityDepartment’s performance and ensure the line manager and Compliance Officer is made aware of:
- Any matter which might expose the Company to a claim, legal action or regulatory action/investigation.
- Any serious disciplinary cases.
- Any substantial failure to comply with the external regulatory and legislative framework.
- To advocate and ensure and an adequate and proactive risk control framework within the team.
- To ensure that they and their wider team adopt and uphold best practices and act in a compliant manner at all times, including with regards to the handling of clients, filing of documentation, tracking of enquiries, handling of claims and processing of business.
- Any other relevant tasks that the line manager may from time to time require you to enact.

Legal, Risk and Compliance:
- Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
- Escalation of any potential E&O's to Department Head / Directors at the earliest opportunity.
- Ensure completion of all mandatory Company training and to deadline.
Your scope of duties is not restrictive and may be expanded at the company’s discretion.
Regulatory Responsibilities / Knowledge Required:
- To be aware with the detailed regulatory obligations imposed by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
- To ensure you are trained and competent to perform your duties to the required standard and in compliance with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulations.
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of general insurance and underlying legal principles.
Requirements / Skills Required:
- Compliance with the requirements of MAS502, for the registration as an Insurance Broker.
- Proven experience placing/servicing Affinity FAC R/I products (e.g., Warranty, PPI, Event Cancellation).
- Strong network in Asia/APAC markets.
- Track record in leading teams, delegating tasks, and driving results under pressure.
- Confidence in representing the department or the company both internally and externally.
- Exceptional communication (written/verbal) and relationship-building.
- Strategic prioritization and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and underwriting tools.
