This role reports to the Head of AI Solutions within the CDO office of the bank. It is crucial for driving AI adoption and enablement across bank functions. The primary responsibility is to lead the data science and machine learning team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine the bank's AI strategy, aligning it with business objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize AI use cases that can deliver significant business value.
  • Create business cases for AI projects, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and ROI estimation.
  • Deliver, build, and maintain data-driven solutions central to Group Operations strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership in data science techniques and applications to maximize the value of SCB’s data sets and external information.
  • Continuously evaluate the environment to challenge assumptions about new data sources, analytics partners, tools, talent, and infrastructure.
  • Engage with internal clients to enhance analytic project delivery.
  • Explore and import leading methodologies and best practices from international markets.
Our Ideal Candidate

Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of domain experience, including expertise in Machine Learning.
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning models to detect and prevent financial crimes, reducing fraud losses.
  • Ability to mentor and guide a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Proficiency in feature engineering and model tuning to improve detection rates of suspicious activities.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced ML algorithms to identify sanctions evasion, reducing investigation times.
  • Expertise in model optimization and hyperparameter tuning for high precision.
