RESPONSIBILITIES

The LKYGBPC is a global competition named after Singapore's founding prime minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, aimed at identifying promising young scientific entrepreneurs from universities to solve major global challenges. The LKYGBPC Accelerator supports this mission by anchoring high-potential startups in Singapore.

• This position is for the Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE).
• Strategic Leadership and Governance
• Collaborate with the Chairman of the Programme Management Council and the Director of IIE to develop and execute a world-class deep tech accelerator program.
• Design and implement strategies aligned with industry trends and organizational goals.
• Establish a robust operational framework for acceleration programs.
• Drive the formation of the Programme Management Council with C-level representatives from founding partners.
• Expand oversight to include the full suite of LKYGBPC activities, creating a cohesive innovation platform.
• Program Excellence and Technical Oversight
• Lead program execution focusing on IP development and technology demonstration.
• Work with startups on technological roadmaps, regulatory strategies, and market entry plans; identify startups for investment.
• Lead mentorship programs with industry experts and investors to guide startups in commercialization and funding landscapes.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Ecosystem Building
• Forge partnerships with research institutions, corporates, investors, and government agencies locally and internationally.
• Represent the accelerator at global forums and develop strategies to enhance its profile.
• Collaborate with LKYGBPC to build startup pipelines.
• Operational and Resource Management
• Oversee financial and manpower planning for optimal resource utilization.
• Monitor program impact using data-driven methods and ensure scalability.
• Secure funding through grants, sponsorships, and collaborations for sustainability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree in STEM, business, or related fields (PhD and/or MBA preferred) with a passion for deep tech and impact.
• At least 15 years of leadership experience in deep tech entrepreneurship, venture capital, or innovation management.
• Strong understanding of IP management, regulations, emerging tech trends, and commercialization globally.
• Knowledge in urban solutions & sustainability, with an understanding of startup support needs in these areas.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
• Experience in fostering partnerships, ecosystem growth, and scaling startups.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of budget, grant, and financial management principles.
• Detail-oriented, team-focused, and success-driven.
• Ownership mindset, accountability, and urgency in meeting deadlines.

• Deep network within the SE Asia innovation ecosystem is advantageous.
