Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in ESG/HSE, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian EHS laws, sustainability frameworks, and audit systems.
  • Engineering background; additional qualification in EHS/ESG preferred.

  • Lead HSE budgeting, planning, and governance for the business.
  • Guide teams in conducting HIRA and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents and ensure timely closure of actions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and liaise with statutory bodies for environmental clearances.

Location: Goa, India

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Drive implementation of Safety Standards, ensure timely closure of audit findings and CAPA.
  • Lead HSE budgeting, planning, and governance for the business.
  • Guide teams in conducting HIRA and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents, perform RCA, and ensure timely closure of actions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and liaise with statutory bodies for environmental and safety clearances.
  • Deploy digital tools (e.g., Enablon) to enhance safety monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Lead safety audits, inspections, and health surveys; promote a safety culture.
  • Drive learning from Group-level ESG incidents and ensure CAPA deployment.
  • Contribute to decarbonization, biodiversity, and water management initiatives aligned with Vedanta's ESG goals.
The Successful Candidate:
  • 15+ years of experience in ESG/HSE, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian EHS laws, sustainability frameworks, and audit systems.
  • Engineering background; additional qualification in EHS/ESG preferred.
  • Strong leadership and compliance orientation, with the ability to drive change across functions.
