About the Role

Deliver best-in-class advanced analytics and visualisation solutions to drive business growth, improve efficiencies and reduce costs, working together with stakeholders across the company.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Take overall ownership and accountability of Enterprise Analytics department comprising key functions like Data Science and Business Intelligence.
  • Manage the overall training, development and growth plan for the data scientists, BI developers and analysts within the department.
  • Responsible for the overall budgeting and resourcing for the department.
  • Responsible for creating, modifying and delivering the analytics roadmap (which includes Data Science/Business Intelligence/Artificial Intelligence/Generative AI use cases), aligned with key strategic priorities for the company.
  • Work and collaborate closely with various functions across the company in delivering analytics use cases that help to address key business problems or strategic challenges.
  • Communicate findings from analytics modelling results to relevant stakeholders that will give insights to improve decision making and drive business performance.
  • Create and maintain best practice for all analytics deliverables for the department, including quality assurance, tracking/monitoring of results/impacts/values and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Responsible for the evaluation, governance and/or maintenance of Artificial Intelligence use cases in compliance with both local and group standards relating to the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.
  • Responsible for evangelising and increasing the adoption of data driven decision making across the company.
  • Responsible for building and sustaining the Community of Practice for both Data Science and Business Intelligence for the company.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments/technology in Data Science/Business Intelligence/Artificial Intelligence/Generative AI, including risks and opportunities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree holder, ideally in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math); graduate degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Data Science or another related quantitative field is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in analytics functions like Data Science, Business Intelligence, AI/Gen AI.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading, managing or mentoring an analytics team.
  • Experience in delivering multiple analytics use cases which have created significant value for the company.
  • Experience in maintaining and improving analytics platforms used for Data Science, Business Intelligence and/or Machine Learning Operations.
  • Experience using programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau), Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree, random forest, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Experience of working on Azure-based cloud technologies will be highly desirable.
  • Experience in SPARK-based technologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience of working in Insurance, Banking or Healthcare sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills, deductive reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team, as well as being passionate, proactive and constantly striving for excellence.
  • Able to communicate and influence effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and takes ownership and accountability of results.
