The Singapore Commercial team oversees, shapes and grows the business in Grab Singapore. We contribute towards Grab’s vision of being Southeast Asia’s superapp by providing everyday services that matter most to consumers in Singapore. We develop and execute business strategies that help us achieve our vision in serving our community.
The team is responsible for growing and managing the accounts of F&B businesses across GrabFood. Ensuring close partnership with these merchants, we develop plans and strategies to drive their sales and meet their business needs, across the different services in Grab such as Express, Pay, and Ads.
Get to know the Role:
This role reports onsite to the Director, Commercial, Managed Accounts.
As the Head, Commercial, Managed Accounts (Food), you will be required to:
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing account management team to drive deep engagements and enhance partnerships with existing and potential new F&B merchants.
- Work with the team to achieve team performance and country objectives for the Food business (Deliveries & Omnicommerce), as well as forming stronger relationships with partners through collaboration in other Grab verticals such as GrabPay, GrabAds and GrabExpress.
- Serve as a cross-functional leader and collaborate with different teams to deliver solutions and initiatives tailored to merchants’ pain points and growth objectives.
The day-to-day activities:
- Work with the Director, Commercial on the strategy and execution to drive and grow the food delivery and omnicommerce (reservations, deals, loyalty) business.
- Identify gaps and unlock opportunities with our F&B merchants to drive market share and revenue growth.
- Motivate the team to meet or exceed targets specific to GMV, revenue and successfully execute cross-functional initiatives.
- Spearhead the development of strategic merchant relationships to ensure the partner is engaged and growing on the platform.
- Develop and maintain vital business relationships with senior and C-level stakeholders, both internally and externally, to achieve business goals.
- Strategize, identify areas of improvement and grow the portfolio based on data, analytics and best practices.
- Continuously engage our F&B merchants and listen to their needs, collect and address feedback/ concerns put forward.
- Monitor and report team performance and impact to leadership on a regular basis.
- Build a strong team culture by developing and coaching the team to enable the team to succeed, both individually and collectively.
- Build strong cross-functional working relationships with our Business, Operations and Marketing teams to ensure a best in class merchant experience.
What Essential Skills You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business / Management or equivalent.
- Passionate about people leadership with at least 5 years experience leading, hiring and building high performing teams.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in account management, business development, partnerships or equivalent role. Commercial negotiation and partnership development experience are vital.
- Experience in holding a target and being accountable for team attainment. Able to lead and mentor both high and low performers.
- Ability to think strategically and distill them into actionable plans.
- Able to manage conversations with C-level positions and senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the keen ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Comfortable with managing data and able to perform analysis (e.g. to solve business problems).
