About the role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Baker to join our team. As the Head Baker, you will play a vital role in leading our baking operations and ensuring the consistent production of high-quality artisanal baked goods.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee the daily operations of the bakery, including production planning, quality control, and inventory management
- Develop and refine recipes for breads, pastries, and other baked items to ensure they meet our high standards of taste and presentation
- Train, manage, and mentor a team of skilled bakers and pastry chefs to continuously improve their skills and techniques
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative baked goods that align with our brand vision and customer preferences
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations in the bakery
- Monitor and optimise production processes to maximise efficiency and minimise waste
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Head Baker or in a similar leadership role within the baking industry
- Proven expertise in crafting a wide range of artisanal breads, pastries, and other baked goods
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, equipment, and food safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to effectively manage a busy bakery operation
- Passion for innovation and a track record of developing new baked products
- Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities to motivate and train a skilled baking team
- Degree or diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts or a related culinary field would be an advantage
