Job summary

Percept Solutions is expanding and actively seeking talented test engineers to design, develop and support automated ICT and FCT solutions for PCBs and final assemblies. You will contribute to NPI, production equipment validation and equipment replacement to improve test coverage and manufacturing efficiency.

The role requires hands-on design and debugging of test fixtures and programs, with strong electronics knowledge and experience with ICT/FCT systems and boundary-scan methods.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in test engineering for production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, PCB tech and ICT/FCT principles.
• Hands-on experience with ICT/FCT test systems and boundary-scan methods.
• Experience designing/troubleshooting test fixtures and interfaces.
• Proficient in C# or similar languages for test development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance test fixtures, hardware interfaces and automated test systems for PCBs and final assemblies.
• Develop, debug and maintain ICT and FCT test programs for 3070/SPEA testers and customised systems.
• Prepare test strategies, plans, specifications and validation criteria.
• Review PCB designs for testability and suggest improvements for manufacturing testing.
• Support NPI activities and deployment of new replacement test equipment.
• Troubleshoot test equipment, fixtures, software and product failures on the production floor.
• Analyse test results and failure trends to improve coverage, yield and reliability.

Job description

Responsible for designing, developing and supporting automated In-Circuit Test (ICT) and Final Functional Test (FCT) solutions for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and final assembly modules. Support new product introductions (NPI), existing production equipment, product engineering changes and equipment replacement to improve test coverage, reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and enhance test fixtures, hardware interfaces and automated test systems for PCBs and final assembly modules.
• Develop, debug and maintain ICT and FCT test programs for Keysight/Agilent 3070 testers, SPEA Flying Probe testers and customised test systems.
• Develop test software using C# or other relevant programming languages.
• Prepare test strategies, plans, specifications and validation criteria.
• Review PCB designs for testability and recommend improvements to support effective manufacturing testing.
• Support NPI activities, engineering changes and the validation and deployment of replacement test equipment.
• Troubleshoot test equipment, fixtures, software and product failures, including hands-on support on the production floor.
• Analyse test results and failure trends to improve test coverage, yield and reliability while reducing downtime and costs.
• Maintain test procedures, technical documentation and equipment validation records.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve issues and implement continuous improvements.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant test engineering experience, including the design and development of production test equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electronics fundamentals, circuit analysis, PCB technology and ICT/FCT principles.
• Hands-on experience developing and debugging test programs for Keysight/Agilent 3070, SPEA Flying Probe or customised test platforms.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting test fixtures, hardware interfaces and automated test systems.
• Proficiency in C# or other relevant test development programming languages.
• Experience with boundary scan (JTAG) and other advanced testing techniques.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose hardware, software and test-related issues.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
