Job summary

Rapsodo. is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of hardware products through comprehensive testing and validation.

You will collaborate with hardware design, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-performance, robust solutions. Responsibilities include developing validation plans, building test setups, performing functional and environmental testing, and producing detailed validation reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Experience as Hardware Validation Engineer in consumer electronics or similar.
• Strong knowledge of hardware testing methodologies, tools and equipment.
• Understanding of digital and analog circuitry, signal integrity and power integrity.
• Hands-on PCBA rework skills.
• Experience with programming for test automation (C/C++, Python, LabVIEW)
• Familiarity with MIPI CSI-2, USB, HDMI, LVDS and Ethernet standards.
• Knowledge of FCC, CE, EMC and Safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute hardware validation plans, test cases and procedures to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Design and build test setups and automation frameworks for efficient, repeatable validation testing.
• Perform functional and performance testing of hardware components, systems and subsystems (PCBs, ICs, connectors, power system).
• Plan and execute system-level and environmental testing across EVT, DVT and PVT phases.
• Analyse and troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback for improvements based on validation findings.
• Support manufacturing in developing production test strategies and resolving yield/quality issues.
• Generate detailed test reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in hardware validation.

As a Hardware Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our hardware products through comprehensive testing and validation processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware design, software development, and manufacturing, to deliver high-performance and robust solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute hardware validation plans, test cases, and procedures to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards
• Design and build test setups and automation frameworks that enable efficient, accurate and repeatable validation testing
• Perform functional and performance testing of hardware components, systems and subsystems, including but not limited to PCBs, integrated circuits, connectors and power system
• Plan and execute system level and environmental testing across EVT, DVT and PVT phases
• Analyse and troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes and drive corrective actions through to closure
• Collaborate with design engineers to provide design feedback and recommendations for improvements based on validation findings
• Support manufacturing teams and contract manufacturers in developing production test strategies and resolving yield and quality issues
• Generate detailed test reports and documentation to communicate validation results and findings to relevant stakeholders
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices related to hardware validation methodologies and tools

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 2-5 years of experience as a Hardware Validation Engineer in the consumer electronics industry or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of hardware testing methodologies, tools and equipment
• Solid understanding of digital and analog circuitry, signal integrity and power integrity
• Hands-on PCBA rework skills
• Proven experience with lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers and signal generators
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as C/C++, Python, Perl, Bash or LabVIEW for test automation
• Familiarity with industry standards and protocols, such as MIPI CSI-2, USB, HDMI, LVDS and Ethernet
• Knowledge of compliance testing and certification processes, such as FCC, CE, EMC and Safety
• Experience in RF testing and RF fundamentals
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and debug complex hardware issues
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
