Job Title: Hairstylist
Job Summary: A Hairstylist is a creative and skilled professional who specializes in providing a wide range of hair services, including cutting, styling, colouring, and hair treatments. Hairstylists use their expertise and artistic flair to help clients achieve their desired looks while ensuring a positive salon experience.
Responsibilities:
Client Consultation
- Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their hair needs, preferences, and goals.
- Provide expert advice on suitable hairstyles, colors, and treatments based on clients' hair type, face shape and lifestyle.
Haircutting and Styling
- Perform precision haircuts and styles according to clients' requests, following current trends and classic techniques.
- Create custom hairstyles for special occassions, such as weddings and events.
Hair Coloring
- Apply hair color, highlights, lowlights, and balayage techniques to achieve desired hair color results.
- Recommend appropriate hair color options and maintenance routines for clients.
Hair Treatments
- Administer hair treatments such as deep conditioning, keratin treatments, and chemical straightening as needed.
- Assess and address hair and scalp conditions, offering suitable treatments for repair and nourishment.
Product Knowledge and Sales
- Stay informed about the latest hair care products, tools, and styling techniques.
- Educate clients on recommended at-home hair care routines and products.
- Assist with product sales and recommend suitable products for clients.
Equipment and Tools
- Maintain and sterilize salon tools and equipment to ensure a clean and safe workspace.
- Keep hairstyling tools, including scissors, razors, and styling irons, in excellent condition.
Client Relations
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, building trust and loyalty.
- Listen to client feedback and address any concerns or requests professionally.
- Ensure clients' comfort and satisfaction throughout their salon visit.
Appointment Management
- Manage client appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling and timely service delivery.
- Stay organized and maintain a well-maintained station for each client.
Professional Development
- Stay updated on the latest hairstyling trends, techniques, and product advancements.
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and industry events to enhance skills and knowledge.
Others
- Any other duties / works as assigned by your reporting superiors.
Qualifications:
- State cosmetology or hairstylist license (required).
- Proven experience as a hairstylist is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hairstyling techniques, hair types, and colour theory.
- Exceptional creativity and artistic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
- Proficiency in using hairstyling tools, products, and equipment.
- Attention to detail and precision in hairstyling.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work with clients.
