Job description

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Reporting to the Vice President of Group Finance, as the Group Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax planning, compliance, reporting for the group, ensure that the Group adheres to tax regulations in all the jurisdictions that the Group operates in, including but not limited to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, China, France, Finland and US. You provide tax advice, recognizing and understanding the operations and business of the Group while contributing to tax risk assessment, tax strategy and process improvements.

For the candidates with the relevant experience, aptitude and ambition, the role may be rescoped and designed to encompass parts of Treasury function and re-designated as Group Tax & Treasury Manager.

Key Objectives of Position & Day to Day Responsibilities

Compliance

· Manage and review GST/VAT/CIT/WHT and various tax returns for group entities;

· Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting & filing in compliance with local statutory requirements;

· Manage & leverage the use of external tax consultants to expand the effectiveness of the Group Tax function;

· Coordinate, respond and manage tax queries, audits across all jurisdictions, providing necessary documentation and support.

· Oversee and ensure that maintenance of accurate records and documentation for all tax-related activities.

Advisory & Planning

· Provide tax advice to business and operations on potential tax implications and mitigation measures for business transactions;

· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.

· Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions;

· Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the Group.

· Provide guidance and training to cross functional departments and teams (e.g, Customer Service, Logistics, R&D, Finance etc) on tax-related matters.

· Prepare and present tax-related reports to management.

Tax Process Improvements

· Contribute to improving processes, governance and documentation;

· Identify opportunities for optimising tax administration and efficiency;

Group Treasury

· Implementation and management of Group Cash Pool

· Implementation and management of Group Inter-Company funding and Subsidiaries Capital Structure management (including loans, external funding, dividend repatriation)

· Implementation of system-based Group netting and managing of standardized Group Inter-company terms of payment;

Key Competencies

1. Singapore corporate and indirect tax compliance

2. Regional corporate and indirect tax experience for other jurisdiction such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and/or US.

4. Transfer Pricing, Tax Incentives; BEPS Pillar 2

Relevant Experience & Educational Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accountancy, and/or ACCA or CPA/Chartered Accountant with minimum 6 years’ experience in Tax acquired in a professional services firm and 2 years commercial experience.

· Strong MS Office & Excel skills.

· Problem solving skills & team work.
