Job summary

PT WORKS & ENGINEERING SERVICES PTE. LTD. seeks a Group Financial Controller to drive accounting policy, controls and consolidation across entities in the region.

You will own monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, with variance analysis presented to the Board, and manage a multi-country finance function including tax and audits. Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of finance experience, including 3–5 years in a financial controller or leadership role.
• Proven multi-entity consolidation and financial management across countries.
• Strong knowledge of SFRS/IFRS, financial controls, budgeting, treasury and audit coordination.
• Experience overseeing Singapore tax and statutory reporting.
• Experience managing overseas finance teams or shared services is an advantage.
• Strong ERP, Excel and financial analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement consistent accounting policies, SOPs and internal controls across all entities.
• Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports within 7 days; provide variance analysis to Management and Board.
• Monitor profitability by entity, project, customer and business segment; drive cost savings and margin improvements.
• Manage Group liquidity, banking, payments and funding; maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts.
• Lead annual budgets, consolidation and periodic forecasts; analyze variances and action plans.
• Ensure timely ACRA, IRAS, tax, listing and regulatory submissions with audit trails.
• Coordinate audits, strengthen financial controls and address audit findings promptly; manage risks.
• Support due diligence, valuation, funding, negotiations and post-acquisition integration.
• Attend management reviews and coordinate with Board, shareholders and advisers.

Group Financial Controller - Key Result Areas

Location: Singapore

Reporting to: CEO / Managing Director

1. Group Accounting & Controls

• Implement consistent accounting policies, SOPs and internal controls across all entities.
• Ensure deviations are identified and corrected promptly.

2. Financial & Management Reporting

• Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports within agreed timelines (within 7days)
• Provide variance, trend, risk and opportunity analysis to Management and the Board.

3. Business Performance

• Monitor profitability by entity, project, customer and business segment.
• Recommend and track cost savings, pricing, revenue growth and margin improvements.

4. Cash Flow & Treasury

• Manage Group liquidity, banking, payments and funding requirements.
• Maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts and highlight shortages in advance.

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead annual budgets, Group consolidation and periodic forecasts.
• Analyse variances and ensure corrective action is taken.

6. Statutory, Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure timely ACRA, IRAS, tax, listing and other regulatory submissions.
• Maintain compliance calendars, proper records and complete audit trails.

7. Audit, Risk & Governance

• Coordinate audits, strengthen financial controls and close audit findings promptly.
• Identify and upscale material financial, tax, regulatory and operational risks.

8. M&A & Strategic Transactions

• Support due diligence, valuation, funding, negotiations and post-acquisition integration.

9. Management Coordination

• Attend management reviews, present financial updates and maintain action trackers.
• Coordinate effectively with the Board, shareholders, business heads and professional advisers.

Core KPIs

Timely and accurate reporting, no avoidable penalties or payment defaults, improved cash flow and margins, timely audit closure, and completion of agreed actions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant finance experience, including at least 3-5 years in a financial controller or comparable leadership role.
• Proven experience in multi-entity consolidation and financial management across multiple countries.
• Strong knowledge of SFRS/IFRS, financial controls, budgeting, treasury and audit coordination.
• Experience overseeing Singapore tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience managing overseas finance teams or shared services is an advantage.

Employment Type: Full-Time Monday to Saturday - 44 hours per week

Monthly Salary Range (SGD) - $7,000 - 8,000
