Job description

PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to manage the financial consolidation functions for the Angusknight Group, including but not limited to, the consolidation and management of reporting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions from a group perspective.

Angus Knight Group operates across Australia and internationally in the Employment, Community and Education sectors, focusing on empowering people in their communities.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: CEO, CFO, Country Heads of Finance, Country Leaders and Executive Team, Corporate Development Team, Group Finance Manager, IT

External: Auditors, external consultants and banking partners

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Ownership of the consolidated group accounts (management and reconciliation) including:

o Consolidation of all group entity trial balances,

o Intercompany balance sheet accounts,

o Investments, goodwill, intangibles, and other acquisition related accounts,

o Foreign exchange accounts,

o Equity accounts.

· Accounting for complex transactions such as, but not limited to, acquisitions (purchase price acquisition accounting), equity accounted for joint ventures and non-controlling interests.

· Coordinate process with external advisors for accounting advice such as acquisition accounting.

· Onboard financials and staff for new acquisitions

· Preparation and management of the AKG Group Statutory Financial Statements process, including:

o Assembly of the AKG Consolidated Financial Statements,

o Management of Group audit request items,

o Preparation and consolidation of notes and support.

· Support for AKG entities in accounting and reporting matters, ensuring management accounts and financial accounts align across the AKG Group.

· Implement group-wide accounting policies as required.

· Consolidation, maintenance, and ownership of overall group compliance including monthly controls checklists and quarterly compliance calendar.

· Ongoing improvement and streamlining of Group Financial Reporting processes for all processes and projects such as implementation of new Finance system.

· Management of the Group Treasury function includes preparing quarterly covenant compliance for covenant testing, consolidation of the weekly cashflow forecasting for the group and review of funding requests and obtaining documentation as required.

· Data management and system ownership, including BI planning system (Calumo), training new users, creating reports, and collaborating with external providers to resolve issues and enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONAL PROFILE

· Professional qualification held, CA/CPA with 5+ years of experience post qualification.

· University Degree (Major in accounting, business, or finance).

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

· Experience in Big 4 Audit background is a must.

· Proven working experience previously as a Finance Manager in a medium to large multinational business with a structured and strong control environment,

· Strong foundation of basic and technical accounting principles, business practices and procedures as well as experience in preparing financial statements.

· Experience with acquisitions a bonus.

· Experience with finance ERPs such as Microsoft Dynamics 365

· A strong understanding of numbers and relationships.

· Experience with the Microsoft Office suite.

· Ability to work autonomously and solve problems.

· Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

· Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.

· Strong people skills with the ability to work across multiple countries to obtain information.
