Job summary

1011 United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking a Business Analyst to support requirement gathering, analysis, and documentation for statements, letters, and reports within core banking systems.

You will create and maintain Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for development and testing teams, collaborate with analysts, developers, and QA, and explore AI-assisted tools to improve documentation accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of core banking systems, document generation, and batch processing.
• Experience in requirements gathering and FSD preparation.
• Understanding of structured and semi-structured document validation (PDF, reports, statements).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools, data analysis, and process improvement techniques.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• a) Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Work with senior BAs and stakeholders to understand business requirements, participate in walkthroughs, analyze existing processes, and document requirements clearly.
• b) Functional Specification Documentation: Prepare and maintain FSDs with detailed functional requirements, data mappings, business rules, and sample outputs; collaborate with developers and QA; update documentation after SIT/UAT feedback.
• c) Testing Support & Process Improvement: Prepare test scenarios, validate generated documents against requirements, contribute to automation/GenAI initiatives defining business rules and outputs.

Job Objectives

• Support requirement gathering, analysis, and documentation for statements, letters, and reports within core banking systems.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for development and testing teams.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, developers, and testing teams to ensure clarity, completeness, and accuracy of requirements.
• Leverage modern tools (including automation and AI-assisted documentation tools) to improve efficiency and quality of requirement documentation.

Key Responsibilities

a) Requirement Gathering & Analysis (50–60%)

• Work with senior Business Analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements for statements, advices, and reports.
• Participate in requirement discussions, walkthroughs, and clarifications with business and technical teams.
• Analyze existing processes and identify gaps, inconsistencies, or improvement opportunities.
• Document business requirements clearly and concisely.

b) Functional Specification Documentation (30–40%)

• Prepare and maintain Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) based on business requirements.
• Ensure FSDs include:
  • Detailed functional requirements
  • Data mappings and field-level details
  • Business rules and validation logic
  • Sample outputs (e.g., statements, letters, reports)
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure requirements are well understood and testable.
• Update documentation based on feedback during SIT/UAT cycles.

c) Support for Testing & Process Improvement (10–20%)

• Assist in preparing test scenarios, test cases, and validation criteria based on FSDs.
• Support validation of generated documents (PDF statements, advices, etc.) against requirements.
• Contribute to initiatives involving automation or AI-based document validation tools by helping define business rules and expected outputs.
• Explore use of AI/GenAI tools to improve documentation, requirement analysis, and knowledge management.

Key Requirements
