Expectations of a Group Account Director

  • Earn the respect of client teams by demonstrating high-quality counsel, comprehensive category and brand knowledge, and delivering executional excellence within budgets and timelines.
  • Foster a high-energy culture within the agency across departments and commit to nurturing and motivating your team to achieve excellence.
  • Demonstrate custodianship of the business and brand, owning the client relationship at senior levels.
  • Manage key client relationships and act as the first point of contact for client questions and requests.
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate client requests and build relationships through regular face-to-face meetings.
  • Partner with Planners to develop and implement strategic responses for brand’s business and communication needs.
  • Address high-level account and production issues, knowing when to involve supervisors.
  • Generate accurate reports on account status and new business opportunities.
  • Lead presentations with clients and manage budgets to achieve targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling within the Groupe and facilitate new business pitches as requested by the Managing Director.
  • Commit to continuous improvement of work and processes.
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism, representing the Groupe appropriately.

Skills & Experience

  • 12-15 years of account management experience in a creative advertising agency.
  • Strong strategic counsel combined with effective execution skills.
  • Experience managing regional/global FMCG/CPG brands across multiple markets preferred.
  • Ability to contribute to and lead strategic discussions with client leadership.
  • Proficiency in creating interactive communication strategies, understanding current digital, media, technology, and advertising trends.
  • Deep understanding of the digital ecosystem, including social, mobile, experiential, and search.
  • Ability to interpret and lead measurement reporting for various media and social platforms.
  • Enthusiasm for exploring new interactive projects and pushing creative boundaries.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong financial skills in budgeting, estimating, and agency profitability.
  • Proven trustworthiness, critical thinking, and composure in stressful situations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through skills.
