About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Institutional Banking Group Operations team as a Cash Operations Investigation trainee. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in efficiently and accurately resolving daily post-processing issues, queries, and requests related to cash remittances. The successful trainee will learn to coordinate closely with various stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations and high customer satisfaction, while adhering to strict compliance and service level agreements. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong analytical mindset, a keen eye for detail, and an eagerness to contribute to process improvements, particularly those leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) technologies.
Job Responsibilities
- Query Investigation & Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer remittance queries accurately and efficiently, adhering to established service level agreements (SLAs) and strict guidelines to maintain customer confidentiality and compliance.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work collaboratively and in a timely manner with business units, support units, agent banks, and correspondent banks to facilitate query resolution and ensure seamless operations.
- Risk Management & Reporting: Assist in the timely reporting and escalation of risk events, incidents, suspicious transactions, and high-priority complaints for appropriate action, ensuring adherence to internal protocols.
- Operational Compliance: Develop proficiency in established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance against all relevant policies, standards, and guidelines, including industry and currency cut-off times.
- Reconciliation & Accuracy: Perform day-end reconciliations with meticulous accuracy, ensuring all post-processing instructions are completed before the end of the working day.
- Process Improvement & GenAI Initiatives: Contribute constructively towards continuous work improvements and participate in projects/initiatives related to GenAI, workflow optimization, risk management, process enhancement, and cost reduction.
- Ad-hoc Support: Undertake ad-hoc duties assigned by the Team Manager, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
Job Requirements
- University Degree in Banking & Finance, Data Science/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Business Analytics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, for effective stakeholder interaction.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve issues efficiently.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to deliver results under tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- High computer literacy and ability to quickly adapt to various systems used in Cash Operations.
