Qualifications

Job description

The Pan Lab is seeking up to two highly motivated and creative Ph.D. students to begin in January 2026. The lab is part of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Research Focus:

Our research combines environmental chemistry, interfacial science, and materials science to study the fate and transport of chemical species and to design advanced water treatment systems. A key focus is the development of novel membrane-based separation technologies to address urgent global water-related challenges.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a related field
  • Research experience in aquatic chemistry, membrane fabrication, materials science, or analytical chemistry is a plus
  • Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate effectively within a team
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills in English
