Job summary

Onyx Capital Group is hiring for a quantitative trading role on our desks. You will develop and maintain high-quality quantitative strategies in production and monitor live trading and risk across multiple datasets.

The role requires strong Python and C++ skills, and a passion for energy and commodities markets. The ideal candidate has a quantitative degree and a solid background in statistics and machine learning, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative field, graduating in 2025 or earlier.
• Strong knowledge in statistics and machine learning.
• Excellent programming skills in Python and C++.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Experience exploring large datasets across multiple timeframes.
• Trading knowledge in energy/commodities is a plus.
• Good communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality quantitative strategies in production.

• Implement signals and relevant datasets within the global execution platform.
• Share production results, methodology, data sets and processes with traders & senior management.

We are currently hiring for an individual with strong quantitative skills to join our Quantitative Trading desk within the next month.

Your future role within Onyx would include:

• Delivering high quality quantitative strategies in production
• Monitoring continuous trading, strategy performance and all relevant risks
• Implementing signals and relevant datasets within the global execution platform
• Leveraging your trading and market expertise by sharing production results, methodology, data sets and processes with traders & senior management
• Supporting the full-strategy trading cycle from risk calibration to trade executions

• Completed Bachelors or Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as data science, statistics, mathematics, physics, or engineering, graduating in 2025 or earlier
• Strong knowledge in statistics and Machine Learning
• Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while keeping strong attention to detail
• Strong programming skills and experience in Python and C++ are essential
• Experience in exploring large datasets across multiple time frames
• Curiosity about global energy and commodities markets
• Intellectual curiosity to explore new data sets, solve complex problems, drive innovative processes, and connect the dots between multiple fields
• Capacity to work with autonomy within a collegial and collaborative environment
• Trading expertise and market knowledge which can be leveraged in the systematic space is a plus
• Good communication skills
