Job summary

Faststream represents a leading international law firm in Singapore and is seeking an Associate to join its prestigious Shipping Disputes team. You will work across a broad range of dry and wet shipping matters, as well as commodities and international trade disputes, alongside highly experienced practitioners and major international clients.

Qualifications

• England & Wales qualified solicitor.
• 4-5 years’ PQE with experience in an international law firm.
• Strong experience in shipping and/or international trade disputes.
• Exposure to wet shipping matters, casualties or casualty investigations is desirable.
• Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and practical case-handling abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Collaborative, client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with shipping, international trade and commodities disputes, including arbitration and litigation.
• Handle both dry and wet shipping matters, including casualty response and investigations.
• Conduct legal research and provide commercially focused analysis.
• Draft pleadings, submissions, correspondence and other legal documents.
• Support case preparation and manage matters efficiently.
• Work closely with partners, senior lawyers, clients and experts.
