Job description

Our client, a leading global FMCG company in the food category, is seeking a Global Logistics Manager to strengthen its global logistics capabilities. Based in Singapore, this position will be responsible for leading end-to-end ocean freight and distribution strategies across multiple international trade lanes, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and resilience in the supply chain.

Reporting to a senior global leader overseas, the role will work closely with diverse regional and global teams to deliver high-impact logistics solutions that support the company’s long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute global ocean freight strategies to support business objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage relationships with shipping partners and logistics providers.
  • Oversee full shipment cycles, from origin to final destination, across multiple regions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and develop contingency plans to mitigate operational risks.
  • Introduce process improvements, technology adoption, and automation initiatives.
  • Track performance through KPIs and implement continuous improvement measures.
  • Drive sustainability efforts to minimise the environmental footprint of logistics operations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field; postgraduate qualification a plus.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in global ocean freight management, ideally in high-volume consumer products.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing international networks.
  • Proven ability to optimise costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs processes.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Track record in implementing technology-driven process improvements.
