Job description

The Global Operations Control Centre (GOCC) oversees the monitoring and operation of Rentokil Initial's IT infrastructure, network services, and application hosting within our global facilities.

The Regional Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management of global IT infrastructure services. This position manages the regional team, provides advanced technical support, and handles escalations based on business impact. A primary function of this role is to support the OCC manager in implementing process changes and ensuring the team receives appropriate training on new services and technologies. The role operates within the ITIL service management framework to analyze and resolve infrastructure incidents and problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor infrastructure services and respond to alerts to ensure service availability.
  • Serve as an escalation point for operational issues from global support teams.
  • Manage incidents utilizing the ServiceNow ITSM platform.
  • Coordinate and perform regular system maintenance, including configuration, patching, and policy compliance.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures.
  • Deploy and support technologies including VMWare, Microsoft, Redhat, and Cisco.
  • Liaise with IT business partners and the Service Delivery team to maintain service levels.
  • Act as a point of contact for security operations incidents.
  • Contribute to team performance reviews and generate statistical reports.

Requirements

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an IT Network Operations Centre (NOC) or a similar IT operations support role at an advanced level.
  • Demonstrable experience in monitoring a medium to large-scale infrastructure environment.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following areas:
    • Hypervisor: VMware vSphere
    • Storage: Nutanix / vSAN
    • Platforms: Windows Server or Linux Red Hat
    • End User Compute: Citrix XenApp
    • Networking: Cisco Technologies (Switches, Firewalls, Routers), SD-WAN, or MPLS
  • Basic scripting experience (e.g., Python).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a rational and organized approach to work.
Desirable Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation in IT Service Management
  • HNC in Computing or an equivalent qualification
