Job summary

Gates Industrial Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an in-house legal counsel to join its global compliance team in Singapore. You will provide legal advice on labor and employment, draft and revise policies and employment agreements, and support internal investigations and regulatory inquiries.

The role involves handling litigation in the APAC region, developing compliance programs, and advising internal teams on risk and policy matters.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer holding a law degree from an accredited university.
• Active license to practice law in common law or other Asia Pacific jurisdictions.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) to communicate with Chinese/Mandarin-speaking clients.
• 5+ years of experience, preferably with both law firm and in-house work.
• Working knowledge of labor and employment laws and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily legal counsel concerning employment, labor, regulatory, risk and general compliance matters.
• Draft, review and update employment-related documents and policies including letters and agreements.
• Support investigations arising from employee complaints and hotline matters.
• Deliver country and enterprise-specific training on relevant issues.
