Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in deal desk, finance, pricing or sales operations

• Strong financial and analytical skills including advanced modeling
• Contract management and negotiation experience preferred
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive process improvements

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior advisor to Sales leadership on structuring and executing high-value deals
• Independently evaluate non-standard deal requests and drive cross-functional solutions
• Review and approve key terms on quotes ensuring alignment with pricing and revenue recognition
• Ensure compliance with internal revenue recognition policies and guidelines
• Lead development and rollout of best practices to increase sales efficiency
• Identify opportunities to automate deal desk workflows using AI and automation tools
• Drive deal reviews, early checkpoints, and enforcement of standard practices
• Partner with Finance and Sales Operations on forecasting and deal analytics
• Present recommendations and deal insights to senior stakeholders in a clear, data-driven manner

MongoDB is seeking a highly motivated Senior Deal Strategy Analyst to join our Global Deal Strategy function. This role will act as a strategic partner to Sales leadership on complex, high-value deals and opportunities, bringing sound judgement and financial rigor to structuring that balances revenue, profitability, and market share priorities. Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior, trusted advisor to Sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on the structuring and execution of complex, non-standard, and high-value deals
• Independently evaluate and resolve non-standard deal requests, driving cross-functional solutions across Sales, Finance, and Legal with minimal oversight
• Review and approve key terms on quotes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with pricing, revenue recognition, and operational guidelines
• Ensure all transactions adhere to internal revenue recognition policies and operational guidelines, escalating and resolving edge cases as needed
• Lead the development and rollout of best practices and playbooks that increase sales efficiency and shorten cycle times across the global team
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline deal desk workflows using AI and automation tools (e.g., AI-assisted contract review, quote generation, deal analytics), reducing manual effort and turnaround time
• Drive deal reviews, early checkpoints, and enforcement of standard business practices and policies; identify and address systemic gaps in deal process
• Partner with Finance and Sales Operations leadership on forecasting, deal analytics, and continuous improvement of deal desk processes
• Present recommendations and deal strategy insights to senior stakeholders in a clear, concise, and data-driven manner

Requirements

• Business degree
• 5-7+ years of experience (Deal Desk, Finance, Pricing or Sales Operations experience required), software industry experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience independently leading cross-functional deal structuring across sales, finance, and legal
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including advanced modeling and the ability to translate complex deal terms into clear business recommendations
• Contract management and negotiation experience strongly preferred
• Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving process improvement in a high-growth environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to leadership
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines with minimal supervision
• Strong collaborator who enjoys mentoring others and working cross-functionally
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce; experience with CPQ or deal desk systems a plus
• Experience using or implementing AI or automation tools (e.g., generative AI, workflow automation, CPQ automation) to improve deal desk efficiency and accuracy a plus
