Job summary

Tencent's WeChat internship in Singapore offers paid, full-time opportunities lasting at least 12 weeks for students in CS/DS/CE. You will be mentored by senior members of the WeChat operations team and work hands-on on developing new projects and product features.

As an intern, you will analyze large datasets, build dashboards, support scalable data pipelines, contribute to ML initiatives, and collaborate with product, engineering, and legal teams to gain a deep understanding of WeChat’s values

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (knowledge of C/C++/Go is a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong sense of ownership, customer-oriented mindset, and integrity.
• Fast learner and effective team player with excellent communication skills.
• Prior internship or work experience in the tech or internet industry is preferred.
• Require bilingual proficiency as communications and materials are regularly shared in both English and Mandarin with the global and China HQ teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to identify business opportunities and optimize product performance.
• Develop data dashboards and visualization tools to track key performance metrics and provide actionable product insights.
• Assist in building scalable data pipelines to support WeChat’s operational needs and enhance platform security.
• Support high-impact machine learning and multimodal AI initiatives that strengthen WeChat's core product experience.
• Contribute to risk modeling and safety strategies that safeguard users and protect WeChat's platform integrity.
