Job summary

GIC Private Limited in Singapore is seeking an experienced Commodities Portfolio Manager to lead discretionary management across energy, metals, and agriculture. The role emphasizes generating alpha through macro-driven exposures, index trades, and diversified cross-asset ideas.

You will manage risk, coordinate with strategists and PMs, and contribute to the firm’s global macro investment framework, with a focus on inflation links and volatility management. English fluency required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years' experience managing or trading discretionary commodity portfolios.
• Generalist across energy, metals, and agriculture with broad index exposure.
• Hands-on familiarity with index construction, roll methods and hedging.
• Strong understanding of fundamentals and macro drivers linking to inflation, rates and FX.

Responsibilities

• Manage a discretionary commodities portfolio across energy, metals, and agriculture with sized, hedged exposures.
• Trade and manage exposure to broad commodity benchmarks (Bloomberg Commodity Index, S&P GSCI) and sub-indices.
• Develop a cross-commodity macro framework covering supply-demand and term structure.
• Identify and implement opportunities across outright, spread, curve and volatility trades with hedging.
• Manage risk with position sizing, hedging, and drawdown controls.
• Collaborate with strategists, economists, and other PMs to translate views into cross-asset ideas.
• Contribute a commodities perspective to portfolio construction and diversification themes.
• Build and maintain a network with sell-side, brokers and market participants.
