Job summary

ByteDance is seeking software engineers to help run Tea, a global data middle platform powering products like Douyin, Toutiao, Xigua, and TikTok. You’ll manage big data deployments, optimize infrastructure, and help ensure millisecond-level performance across regions.

Ideal candidates have a CS degree and at least 1 year of software experience, with proficiency in Java/Scala/Python and familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, and Clickhouse.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 1 year of software engineering experience.
• Experience with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Clickhouse).
• Proficient in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Solid CS foundation: data structures, algorithms, OS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee deployment, configuration, monitoring of big data platforms.
• Optimize infrastructure for storage, processing, and computation.
• Contribute to architecture design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze and resolve complex system performance and stability issues.
• Write documentation for configurations and procedures.
• Develop and validate software testing procedures.
