Job description

Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Technology plays a key role in the firm’s ability to help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues around the world, an important revenue driver for the firm. In FICC Technology we use both open-source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions.

Bolt Web Platform is tasked with offering quoting & risk capability whilst providing change velocity, reliability and scalability. The platform supports trading desks regionally and globally as well as providing capability for external clients through the Marquee Platform.

A global team in terms of presence and scope, many projects are designed and managed out of Singapore. This provides a unique opportunity to work alongside a global pool of talented & driven engineers to push technological boundaries, discover new possibilities and influence strategic platforms every day.

Utilizing a java-based stack of both open source and proprietary technologies (Slang/SecDb), we are actively migrating away from conventional enterprise solutions like TIBCO Rendezvous (RV) to modern solutions for scalable microservices architectures.

We are investing heavily in globally distributed systems, data analytics & UI technologies to deliver a modern experience to enable sales and trading teams across market making, market data aggregation, trade booking & risk management.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

The Ideal candidate is one who:

  • Has experience and interest in building large-scale distributed systems, with a focus on performance, accuracy, & reliability.
  • Has commercial exposure to java and model development lifecycle concepts.
  • Can balance both being part of a global team with a global mindset, and driving initiatives for the APAC region.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Build a unified, world-class platform focused on scalability & resiliency for pricing, risk, quoting and automation across various FICC derivatives products.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including speaking to technical and business audiences, and global stakeholders in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work with global teams on projects that will have global impact.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) of multiple projects
  • Bring innovative thoughts and new ideas to the table.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Experience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming concepts.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Can apply an entrepreneurial approach and passion to problem solving and product development.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audiences and working globally.
  • Interest in fixed income products.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in SRE beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in fixed income asset classes
  • Knowledge of trading technologies in the front-office of a trading organization
  • Strong programming experience in Java and modern web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5 etc.) advantageous
