Job summary

GMP Technologies invites a Geotechnical Engineer to join on a 2-year fixed-term contract for rail projects in Singapore. The role focuses on design review and management of geotechnical works such as ERSS, piling, ground improvement, and slope stabilization, with interpretation of soil profiles and IM data.

You will perform feasibility studies, liaise with consultants and authorities, support shop drawings and site coordination, and assist in safety reviews and tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the construction industry.
• Experience with consultancy background is preferred.
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering software such as PLAXIS and Geoslope, and CAD.

Responsibilities

• Design review and manage geotechnical works such as ERSS, piling, ground improvement, slope, etc.
• Interpret soil profile and assess toe level of ERSS works.
• Conduct feasibility and optioning studies for geotechnical works.
• Interpret Instrumentation & Monitoring (IM) data and liaise with the consultant team to resolve IM matters.
• Attend regular and ad-hoc meetings and coordinate with clients, authorities, QPS, and consultants.
• Provide construction support including preparing and reviewing shop drawings for geotechnical works and coordinate with site team.
• Support relevant authority approvals (LTA, DBC, PUB, etc.) in geotechnical works and impact assessment.
• Support LTA Project Safety Review (PSR, CDSS and CNSS).
• Assist with pile and pumping tests as required.
• Handle other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Feasibility and optioneering study (in-house engineering) for geotechnical works.
• Interpretation of Instrumentation & Monitoring (IM) and liaise with consultant team to resolve IM matters.
• Attend regular and ad-hoc meeting and co-ordination with clients, authorities, QPS, and consultants.
• Construction support (preparing and reviewing shop drawing for geotechnical works, close cooperation with site team)
• Support relevant authority approval (LTA, DBC, PUB etc.) in area of geotechnical works and impact assessment.
• Support LTA Project Safety Review (PSR, CDSS and CNSS)
• Support pile test (ultimate and working load test)
• Support pumping test.
• Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
