THE ROLE

Our client is a leading provider of 3PL logistics services, renowned for its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. The company prides itself on offering tailored solutions to suit the unique needs of each client, ensuring a seamless and stress-free moving experience. They are looking for a General Manager with a strong focus on sales and business development for 3PL logistics.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategic business plans to drive profitability while meeting revenue and profit targets.
2. Ensure smooth business operations through effective team management and the achievement of clearly defined objectives.
3. Establish and update company policies to guide organizational change and enhance operational effectiveness.
4. Cultivate a company culture that prioritizes service excellence, mutual respect among stakeholders, strong ethical standards, and a genuine passion for the work.
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain the highest quality of service delivery.
6. Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout all operations.
7. Oversee day-to-day business functions to ensure seamless operational performance.
8. Identify and secure opportunities in third-party logistics by developing new business leads and partnerships.
9. Provide leadership and mentoring to team members, especially those managing moving and installation services.
10. Nurture and manage relationships with key clients and strategic partners to support long-term business growth.
11. Integrate the company into the wider network of contract logistics by establishing partnerships both domestically and internationally across storage, transportation, and related service areas.
12. Enhance organizational performance through comprehensive staff recruitment, training, and development initiatives; clearly communicate company values and objectives; set performance goals; and monitor progress.
13. Prepare annual budgets based on market insights, set realistic financial goals, and propose strategic recommendations.
14. Accomplish objectives by establishing plans, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
15. Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, marketing, operations, and finance to ensure cohesive execution of business strategies.
16. Represent the company at public engagements, effectively promoting the company’s image and values.
17. Strengthen the company’s brand by engaging with customers, government bodies, and community organizations, while ensuring adherence to ethical business practices.
18. Stay current with industry trends by participating in professional development opportunities and maintaining relevant technical knowledge.
19. Contribute to overall team success by performing additional related tasks as necessary.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

1. Business, Logistics or related Diploma or Degree is preferred.
2. At least 12 years of experience in general management, sales and business development of 3PL (contract logistics) such as warehousing, delivery, and other additional services for larger than parcel size non-perishable goods.
3. Experience related to office moving, commercial space logistics and/or installation projects an advantage.
4. Proven track records in bringing in new customers and converting leads to sales.
5. Self-driven motivated with passion in 3PL logistics/warehousing and ambition for upward career mobility.
