1. Strategic Planning & Business Development

  • (1) Formulate medium- to long-term strategic goals for the ship management company and drive global expansion of core business areas, including technical management, crew management, and newbuild supervision.
  • (2) Use oil major inspections as a key entry point to build the company’s integrated capabilities across technology, management, and compliance, ensuring alignment with international oil companies’ safety and environmental standards.
  • (3) Maintain strong relationships with key clients; conduct regular visits to address needs such as customized ship management solutions and crew deployment optimization to enhance client loyalty.
  • (4) Stay ahead of industry trends (e.g., green shipping, digitalization) to promote low-carbon and smart transformation of the company.

2. Safe Operations & Compliance Management

  • (1) Ensure technical management of vessels complies with IMO regulations, international maritime conventions (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL), ISO/ISM systems, and client requirements.
  • (2) Oversee safe production and daily business operations; coordinate interdepartmental collaboration to ensure targets are met in safety, schedule reliability, and cost control.
  • (3) Optimize ship management systems and reduce operational costs (e.g., fuel efficiency, maintenance expenses) to improve vessel safety and operational efficiency.
  • (4) Handle operational emergencies, Port State Control inspections, and client audits, maintaining a record of zero major non-conformities and safeguarding the company’s brand reputation.

3. Team Development & Resource Integration

  • (1) Foster a positive corporate culture, embedding core values such as safety, responsibility, and collaboration into daily operations. Benchmark against world-class enterprises to build efficient management systems; lead cross-functional teams (technical, marine, engineering, crew management) to improve professional capabilities (e.g., ship technology, commercial negotiation, digital management) and collaboration across business and operations.
  • (2) Establish strategic partnerships with external institutions (shipyards, ports, maritime authorities, insurance firms) to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and expand new customer bases, such as shipowners and shipping companies.

Job Requirements

1. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in maritime-related disciplines (e.g., Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Maritime Management); MBA or EMBA is a plus.

2. Work Experience

  • (1) At least 8 years of managerial experience in the maritime industry, with a minimum of 3 years in an executive role at an international ship management company.
  • (2) Familiar with end-to-end third-party ship management processes (technical management, crew deployment, vessel operations), with experience managing chemical tankers, oil/gas carriers, and other specialized vessels.
  • (3) Well-versed in inspection procedures and standards of international oil majors (e.g., Shell, BP), including frameworks like TMSA and SIRE 2.0.

3. Core Competencies

  • (1) Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop global business strategies and adapt to cyclical trends in shipping.
  • (2) Compliance Leadership: Familiar with IMO, MLC, and other international maritime regulations; hands-on experience managing audits and inspections.
  • (3) Cross-Cultural Communication: Capable of leading multicultural teams (e.g., across Asia, Europe, Middle East).
  • (4) Digital Acumen: Strong understanding of how digital technologies integrate with maritime operations; familiar with ship management software and data analytics tools.

4. Industry Network & Influence

  • Possesses an extensive network with international shipowners, classification societies, and maritime universities.
