This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a well-established design-led furniture business as General Manager – Retail & Contract Sales.
We're looking for an accomplished sales leader who combines hands-on commercial drive with team mentorship and strategic thinking. You will take full ownership of both retail operations and contract sales, helping shape the company’s direction while actively leading by example on the showroom floor.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-end environments and understands the consultative nature of selling timeless design and lifestyle solutions.

What you'll be doing
Develop and implement effective sales and operational strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets
Actively drive your own customer sales and support the team on the showroom floor, demonstrating sales excellence.
Mentor and develop the sales team—showing them what success looks like through your own engagement with clients, designers, and key projects.
Have strong consultative selling and sales closing skills ideally with experience in high end retail environments.
Monitor and analyse sales performance, customer trends, and market movements to optimise growth
Lead client relationships in the interior design, architecture, and development space, as well as direct retail clientele.
Work cross-functionally to elevate the customer experience, product merchandising, and service delivery.
Contribute to the company's overall strategic planning, bringing insight from customer and team interactions.
What we're looking for
A proven leader with 5+ years in a senior retail or B2C/B2B sales role, ideally in the lifestyle, furniture, or high-end consumer sectors.
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of hitting ambitious revenue targets.
Natural leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire, coach, and uplift others.
Deep experience in customer relationship management, business development, and closing high-ticket sales.
Familiarity with retail operations including inventory, merchandising, and showroom flow.
Comfortable working weekends/public holidays and passionate about being present on the floor with the team and customers.
A high level of professionalism, personal presentation, and emotional intelligence.
Tertiary qualifications in business, sales, marketing, or a related field are an advantage.
Commitment to put in the hours in the showroom and be dedicated to achieve challenging sales goals.
