Job description

We are seeking an experienced General Manager (Construction) to oversee and coordinate all phases of our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing on-site activities, ensuring safety and quality standards, maintaining timelines, and working closely with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise construction projects from planning to completion.
  • Coordinate with consultants, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project specifications and timelines.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, monitor progress, and implement adjustments where necessary.
  • Oversee site operations, including supervision of subcontractors and workforce deployment.
  • Ensure adherence to local building codes, safety regulations (e.g., WSH), and BCA standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and workmanship.
  • Coordinate design and/or detailing with consultants, develop shop drawings, review submissions from subcontractors and liaise with other work disciplines.
  • Prepare and review project reports, budgets, and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
  • Resolve on-site issues and delays proactively through effective problem-solving
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil and/or Structural)
  • OR Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Familiar with Singapore’s construction regulations, safety frameworks, and submission procedures (BCA, SCDF, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Class 3 driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations (e.g., BCA in Singapore).
  • Experience in both commercial and residential projects.
