Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking General Manager with a strong understanding of the Chinese market to lead our strategic operations and drive growth across regional and cross-border channels. This role is ideal for a business leader who is fluent in both global practices and the nuances of doing business in China — from consumer behavior to regulatory compliance and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full P&L responsibility and operational leadership of the company’s business strategy, ensuring sustainable growth in both local and China-facing markets.
  • Design and implement business development plans that leverage emerging opportunities within China’s evolving consumer and industrial landscape.
  • Establish and maintain high-level relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, local authorities, government bodies, and joint venture partners.
  • Navigate regulatory and cultural complexities to ensure seamless business operations, including compliance with PRC regulations, import/export laws, and local business protocols.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across sales, marketing, logistics, and operations to align corporate objectives with regional market demands.
  • Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis specific to China’s business environment to inform agile decision-making.
  • Drive organizational culture, talent development, and performance management aligned with a high-growth, international mindset.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in a senior management role, preferably with regional or cross-border exposure to the Chinese market.
  • Deep understanding of China’s business etiquette, economic trends, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong network within Greater China, with experience handling B2B/B2C partnerships, channel strategies, and government relations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and people management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, or related field; MBA preferred.

Preferred Traits:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Comfortable leading through influence and cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Passionate about bridging global business practices with local market insight.
