Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented General Manager with deep expertise in the China market, responsible for managing end-to-end operations, regulatory compliance, distributor relationships, supply chains, and cross-functional management.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience navigating China’s rapidly evolving consumer behaviour and complex regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

China Market Operations

  • Oversee e-commerce (including but not limited to Tmall and JD) and social media (including but not limited to Xiao Hong Shu) campaigns; multi-platform strategy and content/visual approvals to ensure alignment with the brand perspective.
  • Lead market research, reporting, and performance reviews.
  • Drive sales and KPI tracking specific to China.
  • Approve and oversee localized marketing campaigns including GWP programs.
  • Manage budgeting, cost approvals, for China platforms.
  • Ensure regulatory and packaging/labelling compliance for all products sold in China.
  • Ensure smooth operations across the supply chain and manage inventory efficiently for the China market.
  • Coordinate with consultants for regulatory certificates’ approvals in the China Market (such as CFDA and Blue Cap).
  • Monitor IP issues and trademark protection.

China Market Business & Account Management

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to strengthen distributor relationships in the China market, ensuring alignment on business objectives.
  • Monitor Chinese distributor performance and provide strategic guidance.
  • Lead negotiations for China trade terms, pricing, and promotional agreements to maximize profitability.
  • Align with Chinese business partners on problem-solving, issue escalation, and performance reviews.
  • Identify new business opportunities and establish key partnerships in the China market.

Local Market QC & Manufacturing Management

  • Monitor and manage internal quality rejections; enhance and implement SOPs to minimize rejection rates from both local and international suppliers.
  • Oversee production planning, track progress, and manage warehouse inventory control.
  • Work closely with consultants for GMP and ML license applications and ensure ongoing compliance with manufacturing regulations.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Oversee and collaborate with marketing, office administration, and warehouse teams.
  • Attend and lead strategy discussions, yearly reviews, and budget planning.
  • Align operations of overseas partners with internal departments and HR for effective manpower planning and licensing compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trading, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the beauty, health, or supplements industry.
  • Strong understanding of China’s beauty, health, or supplements market, distributor networks, and regulatory environment.
  • Proven track record in negotiating trade terms and managing distributor relationships.
  • Experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, and retail sales is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel within China as needed.
