The Role & Key Accountabilities
This role reports to the Director. As a Chief Executive Officer, you are to :
· Drive strategic initiatives to grow company’s profitability, improve operational effectiveness to full potential and to bring the business to its next level of growth.
· Establish and monitor KPIs maintaining transparent communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment.
· Conduct regular market research to identify trends, assess the competitive landscape, and uncover opportunities for innovation and expansion.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and winery suppliers to strengthen collaboration and ensure long-term value creation.
· Contribute to financial planning processes, including budgeting and resource allocation, to ensure optimal use of resources in line with strategic goals.
· Develop crisis management plans and strategies to address unforeseen challenges that may impact the business.
· Oversee brand development efforts and ensure effective reputation management strategies to enhance the company’s standing in the market.
· Ensure procurement team optimize company’s product offerings and improve on current inventory portfolio to drive sales across both the retail and on-trade channels.
Key Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Finance, Retail or Hospitality
Successful business track record in turning around a Retail/F&B business (B2C & B2B & omni-channel) with a passion in wine
In-depth knowledge of wine or wine certifications would be advantageous but secondary
High entrepreneurship driving business initiatives ahead of the market
Financially savvy with prior P&L accountability & competent in Cash Flow management
Analytical problem solver with strengths in meticulous project & lease management
Solid experience in supplier relationships, negotiations and achieving good trade terms
Operationally hands-on. A motivating & nurturing servant leader fostering high performing collaborative culture
Deep understanding of premium branding, marketing and value positioning
Market and digitally savvy and social media connected
Has high integrity and respects governance and compliance
