We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the general management of employees, supervise daily operations, and drive business growth within the Southeast Asia region. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in leading the sales engineering activities, managing operational costs, coordinating business operations, and ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service.
As the General Manager, you will be responsible for allocating budget resources, formulating policies, motivating employees, identifying business opportunities, and improving processes.
This role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Leadership & Management
- Supervise and lead daily operations of the business, ensuring smooth functioning of all departments.
- Foster a positive work environment by coaching, developing, and motivating employees to perform at their best.
- Manage and oversee staffing activities including recruitment, training, performance management, and retention of employees.
- Understand individual strengths and areas for development within the management team and work towards enhancing team synergy and collaboration.
Sales & Business Operations
- Responsible for leading sales engineering activities across the Southeast Asia region, ensuring business growth and the achievement of sales targets.
- Drive business profitability by developing effective sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding the customer base.
- Coordinate business operations and ensure the seamless integration of sales, marketing, and operational activities.
Financial Management & Budgeting
- Allocate resources and manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of funds and achieving financial targets.
- Monitor and control operational costs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenditure.
- Engage in monitoring financial activities and ensuring all financial objectives are met, with regular reporting and analysis of key metrics.
Customer Engagement & Service Excellence
- Ensure that the business consistently delivers exceptional customer service across all touchpoints.
- Engage with key customers, address concerns, and work to identify and fulfill customer requirements.
- Strengthen the company's competitive edge by understanding the customer segmentation, market trends, and industry requirements.
Strategic Planning & Policy Formulation
- Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate policies, strategies, and initiatives aimed at improving business operations and ensuring sustainability.
- Contribute to the development of the company’s business model, identifying and executing opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve administration processes and operational efficiencies.
Vendor Management & Stakeholder Relations
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other external stakeholders, ensuring contractual obligations are met and fostering strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Identify new suppliers and partners, negotiate terms, and maintain strong business relationships.
Team Development & Growth
- Cultivate a team-oriented culture and drive initiatives that improve cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop and implement training programs aimed at enhancing skills and leadership capabilities within the team.
- Engage in team-building activities and performance reviews to ensure continuous personal and professional development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a senior management or leadership role, preferably within operations in Southeast Asia.
- Proven track record of managing teams, driving business growth, and improving operational efficiency.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial reporting and cost management.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify business opportunities and areas for operational improvement.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, BMS software platforms, and MS Office Suite.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about engineering education and innovation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
- Willingness to travel locally as needed for project or training purposes.
