Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute publishing plans that align with strategic goals and focus on quality and profitability.
  • Guide editorial team to acquire, develop, and publish content aligned with company values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with authors, illustrators, clients, partners and stakeholders.
  • Identify and secure partnerships and opportunities for custom publishing and regional growth.
  • Monitor publishing technology trends and adopt innovative tools to improve operations and reach.
  • Represent Armour Publishing at events to raise profile and expand networks.
  • Oversee daily operations and administrative processes for company-wide efficiency.
  • Direct staff performance and activities to meet company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with publishing, copyright and IP regulations.
  • Develop contingency and crisis plans to address business challenges.
  • Review and enforce SOPs across all company processes.
  • Manage distribution for print and digital products to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Lead marketing to design and execute sales and marketing strategies for key audiences.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers, distributors, booksellers and industry partners.
  • Analyze industry trends and competitors to inform business decisions.
  • Explore new markets including international, digital platforms and emerging formats; collaborate with Finance on budgets and performance.
  • Review and approve payments and claims to maintain financial control.
  • Monitor financial performance and drive sustainable growth.
  • Prepare performance and financial reports for executives and shareholders.
  • Develop investment presentations for fundraising as needed.
  • Recruit, train and develop staff to sustain a high-performance culture.
  • Manage staff administration including leave approvals and annual appraisals.
