Job summary

Ugene Laboratory Services Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an experienced senior leader to plan and drive the company’s strategy, growth, and budgets while ensuring ISO/IEC 17025 compliance across its operations. You will own P&L, guide business development, and supervise lab, technical, and admin teams to deliver high‑quality testing services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related field required.
• MBA or business qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 8–10 years in senior management or leadership roles, ideally in testing labs, food safety, life sciences, or related regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and lab quality systems.
• Proven track record in P&L management, business development, and operational leadership.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's business strategy, growth plans, and annual budgets.
• Identify new market opportunities, service lines, and partnerships to expand the lab's testing portfolio.
• Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and with regulatory bodies.
• Oversee day-to-day laboratory and business operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and turnaround time targets are met.
• Ensure continued compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and other relevant regulatory/quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including adoption of new technologies, automation, and digital systems.
• Own P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability.
• Review financial performance regularly and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Approve budgets, capital expenditure, and pricing strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the technical, operations, and support teams (lab scientists, technical director, admin/sales staff).
• Build a strong performance culture, and oversee recruitment, training, and succession planning.
• Foster a safe, collaborative, and high-integrity workplace culture.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key clients, including SMEs and multinational accounts.

• Strong people management skills with experience leading technical and cross-functional teams
