Job summary

Tencent Games is seeking a highly capable Data Scientist to analyze large-scale datasets and build data-driven strategies for our global gaming portfolio. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to deploy ML-powered solutions, deliver actionable insights, and drive business value across multiple titles.

Ideal candidates will have a MS/PhD in a quantitative field, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience with data products and ML systems.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in statistics, mathematics, economics, CS or ML.
• Experience in statistical analysis (probabilities, hypothesis testing, time series, predictive modeling, A/B testing).
• Experience building data products and ML systems on large datasets preferred.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; solid understanding of AI/LLM is a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, execution, and business acumen.
• Gaming experience with FPS/TPS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale datasets to solve business and technical challenges in gaming using analytics, forecasting, ML, recommender systems, generative AI, experimentation, and econometrics.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop data-driven strategies and implement solutions that enhance business value.
• Deliver actionable business insights to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain data scraping and collection pipelines (web crawling, API ingestion, data wrangling) to gather competitive intelligence and player data at scale.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, ML, and generative AI to innovate in gaming applications.
• Engage in technical knowledge sharing, documentation, and cross-team collaboration.
