Job summary

NetEase is seeking a skilled game designer to design core gameplay mechanics, balance in-game economies, and create engaging experiences across PC, console, and mobile platforms. You will participate from prototyping through launch, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams worldwide.

The role requires strong quantitative thinking, creativity, and excellent communication in English and Chinese, with a passion for diverse game genres and player-centric insights.

Qualifications

• Strong learning ability, quantitative and logical thinking, creativity, resilience, and self-motivation.
• Strong collaboration skills and excellent verbal and written communication.
• A passion for games across multiple genres, with substantial experience playing PC, console, and mobile games, and knowledge into at least one genre.
• An original thinker who enjoys challenging conventions and creating something different.
• Proficiency in both Chinese and English as working languages for collaboration with HQ and teams in other regions.

Responsibilities

• Be the Architect: Design the core gameplay mechanics that form the foundation of a game.
• Be the Oracle: Use data to design numerical systems, balance combat, progression, and in-game economies.
• Be the Magician: Create a wide variety of imaginative gameplay experiences.
• Be the Pioneer: Participate in the entire game development process from prototyping to launch.
