Job summary

Citi Markets Technology in Singapore seeks an experienced FX Risk Java Technology Lead to drive technical excellence and lead a team delivering high-performance risk calculation systems for global markets.

You will define the technical direction, own critical systems, and collaborate with risk, product, and engineering partners to ensure reliability, observability, and scalable architecture across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development with deep expertise.
• 2+ years in technical leadership (Tech Lead/Team Lead).
• Expert-level Core Java and multithreading (JDK 11+).
• Experience architecting distributed, high-performance systems.
• Hands-on with SQL/NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, Tibco, Solace).
• Linux and JVM internals understanding.
• Advocate for TDD and automated testing.
• Production support including L3 and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Java developers.
• Define technical vision and architecture for FX risk calculation platforms.
• Make critical technical decisions on system design and stack.
• Champion code quality, testing, performance, and security.
