Hagar Singapore is a registered charity and part of a Christian international organisation operating in 13 countries. We are committed to the recovery and economic empowerment of women and children who have survived human trafficking, slavery, and abuse.

Our work in Singapore focuses on three key areas:

  1. Enhancing public awareness of human trafficking and modern slavery, mobilising support to end trafficking and abuse
  2. Raising sustainable funding to support recovery programmes in Cambodia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Thailand, and Singapore
  3. Delivering direct services to women migrant workers in Singapore who have experienced trafficking and abuse, supporting them through trauma recovery, literacy and skills development

Role Summary

As a key driver of Hagar’s mission, the Fundraising and Communications Manager will lead the design and delivery of strategic fundraising initiatives, communication campaigns, and community engagement efforts. This role is central to advancing Hagar’s goals by inspiring generosity, deepening awareness, and mobilising local communities to take action through giving, volunteering, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Community Engagement

  • Develop and implement fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and events for both individual and corporate donors
  • Build strategic donor acquisition plans and cultivate new funding streams
  • Manage donor communications, including impact reports and regular updates
  • Organise outreach and engagement events that strengthen community support

Digital Communications and Media

  • Increase Hagar’s brand awareness across target segments through strategic use of mass media, digital and social media
  • Create compelling, high-impact content such as stories, graphics, videos – for various platforms and audiences
  • Lead social media planning and execution for key campaigns and organisational milestones

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, with strong project management and writing abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
  • Creative communicator with strong design skills and storytelling ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a resource-limited environment
  • Resourceful, collaborative, with a positive can-do attitude
