Job summary

Red Airship in Singapore is offering a Fullstack Software Engineer Internship (2027/2028) for students in Computer Science or related fields. You will build features end to end, from frontend to backend, design APIs, and deploy via CI/CD, with AI-assisted development at the core.

You’ll work with both custom services and product teams, engaging with clients and designers to deliver high-quality UX. You will learn across a wide stack including TypeScript, React, Next.js, NestJS, Node.js, Swift,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a Singapore-based institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Internship lasts at least 5 months and is set for fulfilment in 2027.
• Opportunity to transition to a Permanent Role with Red Airship after Internship (subject to evaluation).
• Internship includes onboarding mentorship and guidance on AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Pair-program with the team lead and other developers on real client projects across web, mobile, AI, spatial computing for Singapore SMEs/MNCs.
• Contribute to technical design documents and reason about system architecture and trade-offs.
• Integrate AI-assisted tooling into daily workflow and learn its strengths and limits.
• Develop unit and integration tests with AI tools and perform manual testing where automation is not practical.
• Take part in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with designers and business users to translate requirements into clear scope of work.
• Participate in sprint rituals, planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Fullstack Software Engineer Internship (2027/2028)

Role Description

This role is prioritised for students currently enrolled at a Singapore-based institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

You will join our development team and build features end to end, from working frontend to backend, designing APIs and MCP servers, improving test coverage, to deploying your work through CI/CD pipelines. AI-assisted development is a core part of our engineering practice and you will build practical skills in using these tools effectively while retaining ownership of the code you ship.

While the custom services team focus on client work, the products team builds products and platforms for custom AI and XR

solutions, and interns can be involved in both teams.

Beyond software engineering, you will also take part in client discussions, understanding user value through requirements gathering, contribute to system design, proposing creative solutions with our consultants, and most importantly work directly with our designers to uphold the high quality UX Red Airship is known for.

Requirements

Specific Responsibilities:

Interns to be involved in (depends on the project you are assigned to):

• Pair-program with the team lead and other developers on real client projects across web, mobile, AI, spatial computing for MNCs and SMEs in Singapore
• Contribute to technical design documents, building your ability to reason about system architecture and trade-offs
• Integrate AI-assisted tooling into your daily workflow and learn its strengths and limits
• Develop unit and integration tests with AI tools, review them for accuracy and coverage, and perform manual testing where automation is not practical
• Take part in code reviews as both author and reviewer, giving clear, constructive feedback and acting on feedback you receive
• Collaborate with designers and business users to understand requirements, resolve ambiguity, and turn them into a clear scope of work or features
• Take part in sprint rituals, including planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, as well as team activities

Technical Skills and Competencies Intern will learn during the Internship:

• Hands-on experience with our current stack. The team works across a wide range of technologies, so what you pick up will depend on your interests and who you pair with:
• Languages and frameworks: TypeScript, React, Nextjs, Nestjs, Node.js, Swift, Kotlin, iOS and visionOS
• Mobile: iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin)
• AI: Claude Code, Cursor, Open AI and similar tools
• Testing: Jest and Playwright for unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; XCTest for iOS
• Cloud: mainly AWS and Cloudflare

Internship PeriodFor a meaningful internship, we find the ideal duration to be at least/ more than 5 months. This internship is for fulfilment in 2027 and we will be reviewing/shortlisting the candidates sometime in Q4 of 2026 - Q1 of 2027.
