Job description

Blueballs Bike Cafe is a casual, vibrant hangout spot that combines great food with a passion for biking culture. Known for our hearty Western fare, we serve up delicious comfort food including burgers, pasta, grilled meats, brunch favourites, and more. We're looking for passionate individuals to join our kitchen team and help us bring bold flavours and great vibes to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Western dishes according to the café’s recipes and standards.
  • Assist in food preparation and mise en place.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times.
  • Monitor inventory and inform supervisor of replenishment needs.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items and manage food wastage.
  • Assist with receiving and checking the quality of deliveries.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and quality food service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., SFA regulations).

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in Western cuisine preferred (but we welcome passionate learners too).
  • Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Good team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate is an advantage.
