Qualifications

• Proficient with SQL and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and distributed systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery, Redis).

We are hiring a Senior Python Engineer to help build and scale a B2B fintech platform,

You will work on business-critical backend services that enable companies to move funds internationally, manage workflows, integrate with banking and payment partners, and gain real-time visibility over their financial operations. This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex, high-impact problems in a regulated, distributed, and reliability-critical environment.

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of professional software-engineering experience, including substantial hands-on backend development in Python.
• Experience designing and operating RESTful APIs, service-to-service interfaces, and/or event-driven systems.
• Strong understanding of backend fundamentals: API design, authentication and authorization, database design, transactions, concurrency, caching, error handling, rate limiting, and secure software development.
• Strong SQL and relational-database experience, ideally PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and distributed systems, such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Celery, Redis, or similar technologies.

Highly desirable

• Experience in payments, banking, fintech, treasury, foreign exchange, remittance, wallets, cards, lending, or financial infrastructure.
• Familiarity with payment lifecycle concepts such as authorisation, payment state machines, settlement, reconciliation, exceptions, refunds/reversals, chargebacks, and audit trails.
• Familiarity with idempotency, exactly-once/at-least-once processing trade-offs, retry strategies, dead-letter queues, and duplicate-payment prevention.
• Experience building multi-tenant B2B SaaS or externally consumed developer APIs.
• Experience using AI/LLM capabilities responsibly within production products, operations, or developer workflows.
