Job summary

Activate is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable web apps with AI capabilities for government use cases. You will work across product, policy, data, cybersecurity, DevOps, and platform teams to deliver production-ready digital solutions.

You will design frontend with React and backend with Java/Spring Boot or .NET, with Python for AI integrations. Expect collaboration in an Agile environment and deployment on enterprise cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant IT field with 2-3 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Hands-on experience developing full-stack applications, APIs, integrations, or application components supporting AI-enabled or government digital services.
• Strong frontend development experience using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for responsive, accessible apps.
• Strong backend development experience using Java/Spring Boot, .NET (C#), or equivalent.
• Programming in Python with scripting, automation, API development, testing, data processing, or AI/ML integrations.
• Understanding secure application development, data protection, privacy, monitoring, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, user-centric web applications supporting AI and generative AI solutions for government use cases.
• Develop and integrate backend APIs and services to connect frontend apps with AI services, data sources, and enterprise systems.
• Translate business, policy, and operational requirements into designs, specifications, and implementation plans.
• Support integration of AI-enabled capabilities such as LLMs, RAG, prompt workflows, AI agents, and model APIs.
• Implement secure, scalable RESTful APIs for various applications.
• Assist in testing for usability, reliability, performance, accessibility, security, and fitness-for-purpose.
• Collaborate with DevOps, cybersecurity, data, and platform teams to deploy securely on government or enterprise clouds (AWS, GCC).
• Contribute to monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support across layers; participate in code reviews and CI/CD.
